Our daily schedule is designed with a combination of whole-group and small-group instruction to capture a variety of learning opportunities for all student. The daily schedule includes opportunities for creative movement and hands-on exploration that supports academic progress, physical development, social connection, and joyful discovery.

• A backpack/bag is helpful (though not required) to carry items back and forth.
• A labeled water bottle is recommended
• A labeled lunch box (if sending snack and lunch from home)

• All school supplies are provided by district

Meals are provided by our district culinary team. They provide a variety of nutritious meals comprising of many local items, such as produce, pasta, and baked goods. Students are served nutrition and lunch; menus are available on the district website. If your family prefers to send snacks or lunch from home, please label your child’s lunch box so it can be returned easily.

Yes, staff are on hand to assist students during snack and lunch when needed. If sending items from home, we do encourage families to pack items and containers that students can open and access independently to reduce wait time and increase independence.

Staff are available to support with toileting for our TK students. We encourage families to communicate with teachers with progress and toileting needs to ensure consistent support and expectations.

• Make sure your child has a change of clothes each day in case of accidents
• Your child should be able to change his/her own clothes, placing soiled clothes in a bag to take home for laundering. Your child can use the regular restroom or the Nurse’s restroom to change, depending on level of comfort/need.
• Inform your child’s teacher so that you can establish a toileting routine to support- ie. scheduled bathroom breaks, visual routine, etc.
• Celebrate your child for following the toileting routine and communicating when they need to use the restroom.
• Remember: Accidents can happen and often do occur at the beginning of school, even when students are fully toilet trained- students can easily get get distracted

Our TK program intentionally builds quiet and rest times after lunch into daily schedules to support young children’s developmental need for calm, regulation, and restorative rest. At the start of the year, each teacher will share their rest-time routine specific to their classroom. We welcome family input on your child’s usual rest patterns—partnering with teachers helps us tailor rest supports and make transitions smoother for every learner.

We know how important it is for families to connect with classroom teachers and to create excitement and expectations for your child. To support strong home–school communication:

• Classroom teachers will be shared with families the week before the first day of school.
• Join us for Teacher Meet & Greets on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. This event is a chance to meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, and learn how we’ll work together to support your child’s success.

Yes — we welcome families to drop off students each morning at class. Teachers and school sites will share expectations to support positive drop off routines. Remember that new routines and experiences can be exciting and sometimes stressful for young children and parents. Our staff is here to support you and your children during this exciting new journey. A couple reminders for the first day:

• Bring your patience, a smile, and a positive attitude… our children respond to our energy and emotions.
• On your way to school, remind your child of something they have been looking forward to (ie. the playground, art time, new friends).
• Remind your child when you will be back to pick them up to help alleviate any uncertainty throughout the day.
• Look to your teacher if you need support and they will help guide you and your child.

• Encourage independence with dressing, such as putting on and taking off one’s own jacket, independently pulling up and buttoning pants, tying shoelaces, etc.
• Begin building consistent morning and bedtime routines
• Practice clean up at home (ie. after meals, play, laundry, etc).
• Play games - structured games, such as board games, build foundational skills such as cognitive development, taking turns, waiting, maintaining regulation, handling disappointment, and social interactions.
